Italy is a destination that captures the hearts of travelers from around the world, and for good reason. From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the canals of Venice, every corner of this Mediterranean country offers something extraordinary to discover. One of the greatest pleasures of traveling through Italy is slowing down and savoring the moment. Picture yourself at a small café in Rome, nursing a perfectly pulled espresso while watching the world pass by. These quiet moments—sitting in a piazza with a cappuccino, watching locals go about their day—are often the most memorable parts of an Italian journey. The Italian culture celebrates taking time to enjoy life's simple pleasures, and visitors quickly learn to embrace this philosophy. Beyond the café culture, Italy's architectural heritage is simply breathtaking. Whether you're standing in front of the Colosseum, walking through the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, or admiring the intricate mosaics of ancient Roman villas, you're surrounded by centuries of human creativity and craftsmanship. Renaissance masterpieces, Gothic cathedrals, and baroque fountains tell the story of a civilization that has profoundly shaped Western art and culture. The beauty of Italy lies not just in its famous landmarks, but in the unexpected discoveries around every corner—a hidden courtyard, a family-run trattoria serving recipes passed down through generations, or a small village perched on a hillside that seems frozen in time. Traveling through Italy invites you to experience history, art, and culture in a way that few other destinations can offer.

Ciao! La Dotta Coffee & Tea was founded in 2011 when our passion for travel and exceptional coffee converged in the heart of Italy. We fell in love with the centuries-old tradition of espresso craftsmanship—the precision, the ritual, the unmistakable aroma that fills a Roman café at dawn. That experience transformed how we saw coffee forever.Inspired by what we discovered abroad, we returned home with a mission: to bring that authentic Italian coffee culture to North Dallas and beyond. In 2011, we launched our online store and wholesale operations, making it possible for coffee lovers across the United States to experience the same quality and care we'd found in Italy. Today, our beans are savored in homes, restaurants, and specialty coffee shops from coast to coast. We remain a local, family-owned business rooted in North Dallas, but our heart belongs to the global coffee community. Every blend we offer reflects our commitment to quality, sustainability, and the simple joy of a perfect cup. When you choose La Dotta, you're not just buying coffee—you're joining a story that began with wanderlust and continues with every sip.

Mokarabia: The Zanetti Family For the history of the Zanetti family dates back to the 17th century and forms part of the noble Venetian mercantile tradition. It was during this era that the foundation for the MOKARABIA company was laid; consequently, this coffee roastery benefits from centuries of accumulated experience in selecting and importing the finest coffee varieties and beans available on the global market. This Italian brand, hailing from the town of Rastignano in the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy, has become a household name worldwide—synonymous with authentic Italian espresso made from the finest beans. The coffee trade already boasted a long tradition within the family; indeed, the grandfather and father of the current owner, Massimo Zanetti, were counted among the most successful coffee importers in Emilia-Romagna back in their day. At that time, however, their business activities focused primarily on the trade of green coffee—that is, raw, unprocessed beans. The company’s own roasting facilities receive their supplies directly from its proprietary plantations—a portfolio that includes "Nossa Senhora da Guia" in Brazil, the largest coffee plantation in the world by surface area. From the cultivation fields to specialty shops, and from the roasting plants to the counters of their own coffee bars: such success is only possible when high quality, exquisite taste, and a rich, diverse aroma captivate coffee enthusiasts around the globe. Consequently, the company’s roasting facilities adhere strictly to traditional methods—techniques that have long since proven their worth in the Emilia-Romagna region.  MOKARABIA—A Brand of the Zanetti Family This enterprise places particular emphasis on quality and on the meticulous selection of its beans. As a result, its coffee consistently meets the very highest standards of excellence. Thus, as a discerning connoisseur, you can place your trust in MOKARABIA’s refined coffee blends—characterized by traditional processing techniques and a full-bodied aroma. Founded in Milan in 1950, the company’s declared objective remains the production of coffee blends of uncompromising quality. Driven by technological advancement, MOKARABIA has continued to evolve and innovate over the years. In just a few years, the company expanded, and in the 1970s, it was acquired by Mario Zanetti. Thus, both the development of exquisite coffee aromas and the preservation of the traditional roasting methods for authentic Italian espresso remain—then as now—the core priorities of the MOKARABIA roastery.  The Art of Coffee Roasting MOKARABIA regards coffee roasting as an art form. While the roasting process today adheres to the highest technical standards, the time-honored, artisanal criteria are consistently observed to ensure the creation of genuine Italian espresso. In addition to the careful selection of green coffee beans, the company places particular emphasis on the roasting itself, ensuring that the development of the roasting profile proceeds optimally. Indeed, as a true expression of the art of coffee roasting, the beans are roasted by variety—or *single-origin*—in order to preserve their unique characteristics. Roasting temperatures ranging between 180°C and 230°C ensure that the aromas, flavor notes, color, and body of the coffee beans are perfectly defined. In this way, MOKARABIA upholds its tradition of perfectly conveying the authentic Italian taste—and the true pleasure of drinking coffee—to its customers. The creation of the perfect blend begins with the selection of the coffee beans. Consequently, the blending process at MOKARABIA becomes a ritual—one that is celebrated with the utmost reverence. For only through this dedication can the company guarantee a result characterized by harmony and incomparable flavor. Rooted in a centuries-old tradition, the Zanetti family demonstrates coffee excellence in every respect. Try one or more of our coffee varieties from the roastmarket shop today, and treat yourself—perhaps over a cup of espresso—to a moment of delightful, unhurried indulgence! Mokarabia embodies the Italian espresso tradition and intense roasting profiles. Savor bold blends and aromatic coffees that bring the true taste of Italy to every cup—ideal for espresso enthusiasts and lovers of classic coffee culture.
